Standard Broadband is expanding our FTTH network in The Town of Erin.

Standard Broadband’s FTTH network expansion in the Town will begin in November 2020 and take about 24 months to complete. The MAP below outlines our current active service area (in green) and our current construction area (in yellow) and our planned 2021/2022 build (in blue). Over the coming months as service is active areas will be marked as green on the MAP.

Nov 12, 2020 – Update

Permits have been issued for our expansion and construction will commence in the coming week or two.  Currently we are waiting on our construction locates. These are required by law in Ontario before any work can begin. Locates are used to show our team where existing underground infrastructure exits to ensure we do not damage it during construction and in the case of GAS or Hydro it is for the safety of our team that they know where those lines and pipes are located.

Construction will begin on Trafalgar Rd N at Turner Ct and proceed North to Side Road 9 starting as soon as our locates are received.

Should you have any questions related to the physical construction work being done in the area please contact our Fibre Construction team directly at ftthconstruction@standardbroadband.ca.

Alternatively, you may complete the contact form on this page. All sales inquiries should be directed to our customer service department who are available sales@standardbroadband.ca or 1-866-569-4147.

October 23, 2020 – Update

Our initial MC package has been completed and was submitted to Wellington County late last week. We expect to have that approved in the next week or two. Upon approval our team will contact Ontario One Call to request locates for the area where we will be working. You will start to see flags and paint markings on the ground. These markings show our construction team where other underground infrastructure is located and are required before we can begin our construction work.

Below is a list by street showing the order of where we will be working. Upon receiving approvals from the county and town we will update the list with tentative dates.

Trafalgar Rd from Turner Ct to Side Road 9 – This is our main backbone construction and must be completed first
Copeland Path
Side Road 5 from Trafalgar to 8th Line
Clark Path and 8th Line going North
Side Road 5 from Trafalgar to Alan Path
Alan Path
Wellington Rd 42 from our existing infrastructure to 9th Line
