Construction Starts Spring 2019!

Standard Broadband completed the backbone construction to bring our high speed Fibre Optic to Brookville in 2018. With our backbone in place construction can now begin for the Fibre To The Home distribution network that will be used to connect homes in the community to the network. Construction is slated to begin in late April / early May, depending on ground and weather conditions. Weekly updates will be posted to this webpage providing details on project status and where service is now available.

Our fibre network will deliver crystal clear telephone service, Ultra 4K HD TV and of course reliable, affordable and extremely fast Internet service with speeds never before seen in a rural community.

How much will this cost to get installed?

There will be a one-time installation fee of $750.00 to connect your home to our network during the initial build. Properties that do not connect during the initial build period will have installation fees estimated between $2500.00-$5000.00 depending on location and permits required. Our installation includes up to 250M of cable from the property line to the entry point on the house, up to 15M of indoor fibre optic cable and our fibre modem.

Can I have fibre installed without service?

A subscription to one of our Internet services is required in order to have our Fibre optic service installed to your home.

How is service connected to my house?

Our service is connected to your home via a small conduit that is run from one of our pedestal locations under ground to the side the house. Typically we will follow a similar path to the hydro utility service.  Our crews will use a small trenching tool that will allow us to place the conduit beneath your grass without the need to remove strips  to run our conduit.  At the side of the home a small box is installed which will serve as the connection point to the home and from there to your router.
